So often in my life I find myself making it about me when it needs to be about You. I seek how I want to see You rather than how You come to me. I turn my focus inward as, so often, my daily walk becomes self-interested as I look more to what I want than what You have intended for me.
Teach me, Lord, to put behind me my selfish pursuits, to turn my eyes upwards rather than inwards, as I seek what You have intended for me. I am ready for Your Spirit to move through me, and to open my heart, to truly and sincerely open my heart, to Your will and Your desires. Show me then my errors, show me then my vanities, the hollowness of that which I seek without Your blessings that I may truly understand where it is that You are leading me in the love and the light of Your plan.
In the hope of Christ, let me walk as I should, strengthened in Your Word as it shines forth, guiding my way. Let His example, and the power of the Spirit upon me, cast aside the weakness of my flesh and the pain that it causes me as I turn my eyes to You. Show me how I may put away myself, that I may turn my focus from myself that, in Your divine mercy I may live giving freely of myself in all that I am and all that I do.
In the name of Your Son, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You in the Kingdom, one God, world without end, Amen.
