When Joseph was sold into slavery, rejected and scorned, You, O Lord, came to Him, finding him the darkness of those pits, in the depth of his captivity, and exalted him beyond measure. When Israel was lost, wandering through the desert in search of the promise of peace, they did not hunger; they did not starve, for You raised Your hand, O God, and fed them even as you led them even to their freedom. All things, great and small, You, O Father, are You capable of in the love and the hope that You have for Your children. Those who put their trust in You, they are never forsaken, they are never rejected.
My faith shall be placed in You, Heavenly Father, knowing that, even as life becomes difficult, even as I face my challenges and my difficulties, even as hardships arise and struggles are before me, I will never be alone. Take me and lead me from these days of sorrow and hurt, and give me a resting place in Your love. Heal me from the pain that touches my life, and let me not be downtrodden, let me not stumble on my journey through this life. Like Your Saints and children who have come before me let my faith be answered with the encompassing grace of Your wondrous love given freely to me as it answers the deeper questions that plague my spirit and my soul. Freely I give myself to You, O Lord, freely give Yourself to me.
In the name of Your Son, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You in the Kingdom, one God, world without end, Amen.
